Democrats Serve PAC Announces $600,000 Campaign in NY-01 for Kara Hahn

Direct Mail and Digital Ad Program Will Run for 10 Weeks in Democratic Primary

Milford, Conn. (April 11, 2022) — Democrats Serve, a national hybrid political action committee (PAC) that supports Democrats running for office with public service backgrounds, announced a direct mail and digital ad campaign in New York’s 1st Congressional District in support of endorsed candidate Kara Hahn that will invest at least $600,000 ahead of the June 28th Democratic primary.

The Democrats Serve program in support of Hahn’s congressional bid will include:

• 11 pieces of mail targeting likely Democratic primary voters,

• 4 pieces of mail targeting older Democratic primary voters,

• 9 weeks of programmatic digital and social media advertising — including both static display ads and video ads — delivering over 3,500,000 impressions to Democratic primary voters, and

• 7 weeks of streaming video is planned for nearly 2,700,000 total impressions. 

Brett Broesder, the organization’s founding executive director, noted that Hahn — with an extensive public service background — has demonstrated the skills and values that will make her excel as a candidate and policymaker.

“Kara Hahn exemplifies public service,” said Broesder.  “Kara’s background as a social worker, legislative aide, and legislator gives her a unique perspective and expertise on the frontlines of policy delivery. She stands out in this Democratic primary and will be an effective member of Congress. We’re proud to support Kara.”

Since launching in May 2021, of the 29 endorsed candidates who have appeared on a ballot so far, every single one has won their election. The organization recently supported Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) and Ruben Ramirez (TX-15) in their respective, and successful Lone Star State congressional primary bids.
