Democrats Serve PAC endorses Maurice Green for North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction
Highlighting his public service background, the national organization plans to support Maurice Green in his 2024 election actively.
Washington DC. (April 22, 2024) – Today, Democrats Serve, a national organization supporting Democrats with public service backgrounds, announced the endorsement of Maurice (Mo) Green’s bid for North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Democrats Serve’s executive director, Brett Broesder, stated that Mo’s public service experience as a former superintendent of Guilford County Schools, general counsel for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and deputy superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools makes him an excellent example of someone who can excel as a candidate and policymaker.
“North Carolina families need someone who will advocate for them,” said Broesder. “That’s why we’re supporting Mo Green’s Superintendent of Public Instruction run. From investing in public education to ensuring safe and secure learning environments, Mo will always do what’s right for North Carolina students.”
Mo noted that he’s thrilled to receive Democrats Serve’s support.
“I am proud of the broad coalition who share our vision of excellent public schools. It is an honor to receive the endorsement of the public service-centered organization, Democrats Serve. I have the deepest respect for their mission of supporting candidates with public service backgrounds such as mine,” said Green. “As we know, North Carolina public schools are full of public servants who selflessly serve our communities each day to make a stronger, better future for this state.”
The North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction heads the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and oversees the state’s public school systems.
