Democrats Serve Endorses Ayala (FL-10)

Highlighting her background as a frontline public service pro, new national organization plans to actively support Aramis Ayala in Florida’s 10th District.

Milford, CT (August 27, 2021) – Today, Democrats Serve — a new national political action committee (PAC) that supports Democrats running for office with public service backgrounds — is endorsing Aramis Ayala in her bid to replace Val Demings (FL-10), who is running for U.S. Senate against Marco Rubio.

Brett Broesder, the PAC’s executive director, noted that Ayala — who worked as a prosecutor and public defender before becoming Florida’s first Black state attorney — is an excellent example of a Democrat running for office, with frontline public service experience, who can excel as a candidate and a policymaker.

“Aramis Ayala knows public service,” said Broesder. “As a public defender, a prosecutor, and as a state attorney, she’s displayed the courage to take on the status quo, seek justice, and build safer and healthier communities. For Aramis Ayala, standing up for Florida families isn’t just a job; it’s a way of life.”

Democrats Serve works to support public service candidates, who often lack access to the built-in fundraising networks of other candidates.

Since officially launching a few months ago, the PAC has made endorsements nationwide in competitive elections, including: U.S. Senate Candidates Val Demings (FL) and Cheri Beasley (NC); U.S. House Candidate Aramis Ayala (FL-10); and incumbent House Democrats Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07), Lauren Underwood (IL-14), Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Andy Kim (NJ-03), Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), Susan Wild (PA-07), Abigail Spanberger (VA-07), Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Tom O'Halleran (AZ-01), and Katie Porter (CA-45); and Gubernatorial Candidate Katie Hobbs (AZ).
